Open Research & Tech for the Public Good
In 2023, PDS adopted a Public Safety Initiate when our M1 chemical sensing drone was built and tested. It was a response from a Major US Fire Department who voiced their request for a chemical sensing drone, in response to a railcar derailment that had a chlorine car next to the Mississippi River.
We followed through to serve this need while becoming proficient in new types of sensor integrations for real-time awareness during incident response. Now in 2024, our goal is to produce refined versions of the M1 to align with our mission. This multi-rotor platform has gone through a design overhaul with the introduction of the Sky Warden. Our goals for 2025 include two additional platforms including a fixed wing and an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV).
