About Us

Advancing STEM Through Student Research & Innovation

Performance Drone Systems Research Foundation (PDS) is a Colorado-based nonprofit dedicated to advancing inclusive education in remote sensing and autonomous technology. Since 2015, we’ve mapped imagery and collected NIR and LiDAR data across the U.S., shifting toward craft development in 2017 and successfully building our first fixed-wing aircraft by 2019. Today, our advanced drone platforms emphasize open-source collaboration, customization, cost-efficiency, and superior data collection, with a 2024 focus on sourcing domestic components, parts, and materials to strengthen U.S. supply chains.

At our core, PDS is committed to empowering skill development and innovation. Through open-source solutions, hands-on training, and collaborations with universities, research institutions, and industry partners, we equip aspiring innovators with the tools to thrive in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

With your support, we are shaping a future where drone technology drives public safety, environmental monitoring, and STEM education while building a stronger, more inclusive workforce.
